Children and youth carry their own wealth of knowledge and resilience. I believe young people are highly capable humans and have the skills, knowledge, and strengths to create their own change and healing. Taking the first step towards our healing journey’s can be uncomfortable and intimidating. As a therapist I believe the most important aspect to therapy is the therapeutic relationship. I strive in ensuring the counselling space is safe and trusting for clients to explore their experiences and identities. I believe in the journey of healing and co-creating with clients.
I have worked with children, youth, and families for over 10 years. I have B.A. in Child and Youth Care (CYC) and a Masters in Counselling (MC) which have allowed me to obtain a Registered Clinical Counselling (RCC) designation.
I use an integrative approach to counselling. I mainly work from a client-centered, attachment-based, trauma-informed, and strength-based approach. I strive from a place of curiosity, while working from a cultural-sensitivity lens. I believe in supporting and advocating for my clients, as well as empowering them to advocate for themselves. I utilize techniques from CBT, Narrative therapy, Person-Centered therapy, Art and Play therapy, Solution-Focused therapy, and Somatic therapy. My areas of specializations include, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, relationship issues, grief/loss, attachment difficulties and parent-coaching.
