Current Opportunities
Strong Ties Counselling provides numerous opportunities for students, new graduates, and seasoned therapists
Master's level Internship
This 9 month training opportunity is for students enrolled in Master’s programs that require an internship involving direct client hours, professional hours and direct supervision.This internship includes: weekly supervision, on-site training, and opportunities to run groups.
Post-graduate Fellowship
This 12 month long fellowship offers new clinicians opportunities to further their training, to be supported in the building of their own private practice, and to receive ongoing supervision.
Associate Therapist
This 12 month long fellowship offers new clinicians opportunities to further their training, to be supported in the building of their own private practice, and to receive ongoing supervision.
Requirements

Master's Degree in counselling or social work
-
Registration with BCACC, CCPA or BCCSW
-
Current professional liability insurance
-
Three years of demonstrated experience and expertise working with children or youth experiencing different clinical issues (e.g. anxiety, ADHD, anger issues, developmental challenges, self-esteem, trauma, life transitions).

Strong ability to work with adults or families, especially in parenting issues.

Experience in play therapy, developmental and attachment theory.

Preference for those willing to do some evening and/or weekend work
-
Preference for therapists wanting to increase their client base by 1-2 days per week.
Responsibilities
-
Provide in-person sessions.
-
Work with children aged 5-19 years old using play-based strategies.

Maintain accurate note taking of all counselling sessions.

Work alongside our client care coordinator to enhance the experience of our clients.

Engage in professional development activities including supervision and other trainings.
